Texas Security Officer of the Year

Twelve security officers from across the state have been nominated by their respective companies as Texas Security Officer of the Year.  The winner will be honored at the annual ASSIST convention in Houston on October 4, and will receive a trophy and a $100 cash award.

The Associated Security Services and Investigators of the State of Texas is dedicated to encouraging professionalism in the industry.  The award is given in furtherance of that aim.

The twelve nominees are:

Ray B. Hernandez Jr., RBH Security, El Paso;
Harold Craft, Twin City Security, Houston;
Bob Grayson, En Garde Protective, Houston;
Shannon Williams, Sr., All State Guard Service, Inc., Houston;
Captain Larry Moore, Security Professionals of Texas, Houston;
Jerry Baker, Texas Industrial Security, Dallas;
Juan Cortez, HVP, San Antonio;
Fidel Garcia, Jr., FNG Security and Investigations, Corpus Christi;
Jimmy Martinez, Barton Protective Services, Austin;
Thomas Ivey, Ruiz Protective Service Inc., Dallas;
Hober Reyes, Smith Protections Houston branch;
Tracy Allen, Aramco Services Company, Houston.

Although one of the officers saved a life when he pulled a man from a burning vehicle, and another was involved in an armed conflict, the majority of the nominees were nominated for their day-to-day conduct on the job.  Timeliness, attendance, pride in uniform, and individual initiative are all qualities praised in the officers by their company supervisors.
