The Advantages of ASSIST Associate Employee Membership
ASSIST is dedicated to the professionalism and promotion of the security profession in the State of Texas. Member companies enjoy the benefits of an organization that is committed to the success of this profession. Employees of member companies can also directly benefit from joining as Associate Employee members. For only $25.00 per year or $1.00 per pay period, employees of member companies can join as Associate Employee members. Associate Employee members receive a $20,000.00 accidental death policy that pays directly to the employees beneficiary upon their death. In today’s world, this can offer those employees and their families peace of mind. Associate Employees also benefit by being part of an association that not only addresses issues facing the companies they work for but for the employees as well. ASSIST has formed a Fallen Officers Fund to help the families of officers that are killed in the lines of duty. ASSIST was instrumental in the passing HB 565. This bill now makes it a felony for assaulting a security officer while on duty. These are just a few examples of how this association is working hard for the membership. In addition to these specific benefits, Associate Employee membership in ASSIST can greatly increase the number of members in the association.
Why is this important? Because numbers talk! The larger number of members we represent when talking to State Senators, Representatives, The Private Security Bureau and others, the bigger voice we have and the more they listen.
We encourage all ASSIST members to promote Associate Employee membership within their companies. The process to set up the employees for payroll deduction has been made simple and easy. This Form and helpful guidance are available to assist you in this process. Please contact your Regional President or member services for more information on how to set up this program.
