HOUSTON LEAPS

The Houston LEAPS has changed leadership. Jeff Moore did a great job for the pasty three years. Thank you Jeff, Iï¿½ll try to keep it going. Luckily weï¿½re still working with Houston Police Officer Joe Sanchez. Joe is working hard and would like increase the interest in the Houston LEAPS. Recently Ruben Amaya and I met with Joe and Police Officer John Guerra to discuss LEAPS and the future. Stay tuned for some exciting future announcements.

For our March meeting, Joe was able to arrange a presentation on identity theft given by HPDï¿½s Financial Crimes Division. Joe also sent out a press release and several members of the media showed up. Our ASSIST State President Bob Burt was interviewed and received some TV time on the local evening news.

Our May meeting featured a presentation by Senior Police Officer Domagas on internet fraud.

In addition, great progress has been made with the Harris County Sheriffï¿½s Office to become an important partner and leader of LEAPS in the Gulf Coast Region.

ASSIST State President Bob Burt and I met with Major Armando Tello and other ranking executives to solidify plans that will allow LEAPS in the Gulf Coast Region to take a major step forward.
