Returned To ASSIST For State Legislation: $1,000.00
As all of you know the ASSIST State Convention 2000 was held
in El Paso on the 5th, 6th, 7th October 2000. It was a success
because all of you of ASSIST attended, as a result of this for
the first time ever, we were able to return a check to ASSIST
in the amount of $3,500, as a result of some of the winner's
of the hourly drawing we were able to return $1,000 in cash
back to ASSIST.
The first evening of the 5th we had a great reception at the
Ameri-Suites at which time the Chief Of Police and his
Assistant attended as did Dr."Mac" McGlasson (TCPS)
and visited each and every member, then we went to Speaking
Rock Casino for Dinner and Gambling, and I might add several
persons came back with more money than they took with them,
and the food was excellent.
The second day on the 6th during the day was for Continuing
Education, and was very interesting as the result of the El
Paso Police Department and the excellent Guest Speakers, in
the evening we went to the Bowen Ranch which is a real working
Cattle and Buffalo Ranch, where we first had entertainment by
the "Pistolers and saw a shoot out Just like OK Coral, a
western round up, than had a wonderful dinner "Chuck
Wagon Style", the Vitals were sure good, and than
finished up with a good old fashion Bon-Fire Western Style,
where all gathered around the fire and told their stories.
On the 7th we held our General Membership Meeting, at which
time we had the:
