Associate and Employee Memberships
By Dave Parker, ASSIST Vice President

How many associate members does your company have? Well, if youve beaten Mark Smith of Smith Protective Services, youre in pretty good shape. Several years ago, Smith decided that he would make associate memberships available to all his officers, ensuring their involvement in the profession, and access to the benefits of membership that are available to them.

Many security firms include a page in their employee package, so that when they hire a new officer, or employee, one of the documents they sign is for associate membership in ASSIST. If your firm pays bi-weekly, the fee is only $1.00 each payday.

Texas has thousands of security professionals, and ASSIST works with them to help further the goals of both the members and Association, giving them a voice in legislative and educational issues in the profession. In addition, officers receive inclusion in our $10,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance.

EVERY Security Officer should be an Associate Member of ASSIST!

While were talking about memberships, remember to include your management staff in full ASSIST memberships. Many companies have several voting members, and some have even included uniformed account managers. Its a career move!
