CLASS B & C LICENSES STANDARDS & REQUIREMENTS COMMITTEE REPORT:

As of this report we are preparing the following requirements for individuals applying to take the licensed manager exam. As many of you know, any employee that works for three (3) years and can get either clients or employees to verify that information can apply and in many cases get a license. There are no real requirements for license managers other than the experience and in our opinion that is not specific enough. With that in mind we have the following:

QUALIFICATIONS FOR LICENSED MANAGERS EXAMINATION ON AN AFFIDAVID OF EXPERIENCE FROM A CURRENT LICENSED MANAGER, OWNER OR SHAREHOLDER OF A CURRENT LICENSED COMNPANY OR A BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL THAT IS WILLING TO ATTEST TO THE EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES AND CHARACTER OF THE APPLICANT.

1. Minimum of no less than 25 years of age.

2. United States citizen or legal permanent resident for at least 10 years or more.

3. Seven (7) years of occupational experience in a related field:

  1. Four (4) years experience as a commissioned security officer, military police, military security specialist or police officer. An applicant may have four (4) years experience in the license category the manager is applying for (i.e. dog trainer, non-commissioned officer) however, the license will be restricted to that category.

  2. Two (2) years experience in a supervisory position with a firm performing the duties of scheduling, hiring and post supervision.

  3. One (1) year in a management role demonstrating experience with fingerprinting and preparation of board paperwork.

4. High School Diploma or GED.

5. Sixteen (16) accredited college hours in business management or criminal justice or eighty (80) hours of board approved Continuing Education.

6. Applicant may not have any felonies or Class A or B misdemeanor convictions. The only exemption is one (1) DWI conviction in three (3) years or more previous to the application date.

THESE STANDARDS DO NOT APPLY TO INDIVIDUALS WITH CURRENT LICENCES. THESE REQUIREMENTS ARE FOR NEW APPLICANTS ONLY.

It is our intention to place these standards before the Board at the next regularly meeting.

Committee Chairman
