Security Officer Fidel Sanchez

Security Guard Fatally Shot at Construction Site

ON APRIL 20 AT APPROXIMATELY 0027 HOURS Security Officer Fidel Sanchez III of Professional Patrol and Guard responded to an alarm call at a construction site in Fresno, Texas. On arrival Sanchez made contact with a lone male subject. It is believed that this subject fired several shots striking Sanchez. Sanchez was on the phone with his dispatcher when he was shot.

Police believe three other persons were involved. All the subjects fled the site leaving behind the stolen vehicle they were driving and the materials they were attempting to steal. He was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he died. At this time warrants have been issued for three of the individuals based on fingerprints recovered at the scene.

Sanchez was laid to rest April 26. His funeral was attended by more than 100 of his family and friends. Security officers from SPOT, TOS, Heartland Services, State Tactical, Top Gun, SORTIE, Verified Response of Dallas and his fellow officers at Professional Patrol and Guard attended.

Sanchez leaves behind his wife, Bianca, and three children. Sanchez had worked in security for several years and loved doing his job. He was described as a loving bear of a guy who liked everyone. He died doing what he loved protecting his clients and his community.

PLEASE REMEMBER OFFICER SANCHEZ and his family in your prayers. The ASSIST Fallen Officer Fund has met with the family and is providing support and financial assistance during this tragic time.
