ASSIST Convention 2002
A Huge Success
Together
Were Shaping the Future of the Security Industry in Texas The 2002 Annual ASSIST Convention is now history, but what a terrific program!!! And what memories and business ideas we all gained!!!
It was great to see a large number of members and guest in attendance, and the happy camaraderie of professionals genuinely helping each other with any and all questions or problems. We had an opportunity to talk with old friends and spin tales of the past, and meet and visit with many new friends.
Our thanks and congratulations go to the Houston Chapter for having such a well organized program. From the initial registration to the final Saturday ASSIST meeting, everything was done in a truly professional manner... terrific guest speakers, awards, Houstons scenery, and great meals at some of the best restaurants on the Boardwalk. Thanks to all of the speakers who freely shared their knowledge and expertise to make this years program so outstanding... and thanks to all the members who attended and who contributed so much to one another.
Mark Smith -- Our Newest Lifetime Member
Mark Smith was awarded a Lifetime Membership in recognition of all his hard work and dedication on behalf of our industry and ASSIST. Mark accepted the Lifetime Membership but insisted that he would continue to pay annual dues! We now have five Lifetime Members on the books. Congratulations and thanks Mark!
ASSIST Trophy
The Dallas Chapter can proudly display the ASSIST Trophy for one more year for turning in the most Money to ASSIST for the Convention held in 2001... however, a little birdie from San Antonio said their Chapter wants the trophy next year??? The Houston Chapter decided they wanted to spend the money on the ASSIST members at the Convention 2002 and declined the opportunity to compete for the trophy.
New Chapters
Im happy to announce that we will have a new Chapter in San Antonio beginning December 5, 2002, and a second new Chapter will be started in the Lower Valley (Brownsville and Harlingen) by March 2003.
Now, lets work together to increase our membership role and make 2003 the best year
ever!
