Training is important issue for the security professional

By
Kaleb Brashear
Elite CEU, Inc.

Training is a vital and important issue for all security professionals. As we all know, the Texas Private Security Bureau mandates that most licensed security professionals partake in some form of initial training, as well as continuing education in order to obtain and maintain their license with the state. Continuing education serves as a great tool for all of us to stay up-to-date on the current technologies available, applicable security methods and state laws. Traditionally, this type of required training was offered only in a classroom/instructor-led setting. Well, time is money and the traditional training methods result in the loss of billable hours and productivity. This problem is now solved!

As a proud member of ASSIST, we would like to introduce ourselves to the fellow ASSIST members and security professionals throughout the state of Texas. My name is Kaleb Brashear and I am the president of Elite CEU, Inc. We are a nationally accredited (NTS-NBFAA) training school licensed by the Private Security Bureau here in Texas, as well as in Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and North Carolina. What separates us from traditional training schools is the fact that we provide money-saving training solutions through the use of the Internet (WBT or Web-Based Training) and CD-ROMs (CDBT or CD-Based Training).

Accomplishments:

  • We were one of the first companies to provide online security continuing education.

  • Elite CEU is the first and only company to provide security continuing education on an interactive CD-ROM-based learning platform.

  • The first and only training school in Texas to offer the 16-hour Alarm Basic online.

We have become one of the top training schools for security professionals for the following reasons:

  • Obtaining and utilizing our industry contacts with expertise in all aspects of security for course topics and content, as well as listening to our clients needs.

  • Taking advantage of technological advancements in interactive training mediums (i.e. Internet and stand-alone CD-ROMs).

  • We go the extra mile (working after hours and sometimes on weekends) to help security companies maintain their educational requirements.

  • Putting our clients first, we provide just-in-time training solutions and have set the standard in customer service for any security training school in the country.

Future plans for Elite CEU:

  • Work with industry experts in all fields of security to provide live and interactive webcasts.

  • Future courses geared specifically toward topics in the guard, fire systems and locksmith industries.

  • Advance our current learning platforms to include more interactivity with animation and video.

For more than two years Elite CEU has successfully provided cost-effective and time-saving training solutions for hundreds of security companies throughout the state of Texas, as well as throughout the country. Please feel free to visit our Web site www.eliteceu.com or call us toll-free at 866-556-5512 to request information on our services. We look forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming ASSIST convention this coming October.
