Charles Kellis is the President and Qualified Manager for Landmark Protective Services Inc. he oversees the daily operations of the company to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations as well as compliance with client contracts.

Charles started his security career in 1987 as a gate officer for an upscale residential community in Las Colinas and worked his way up to the position of Facility Manager for a Class A high rise facility. While working in the security field he attended the Dallas Baptist Police Academy and became a reserve police officer for a small town in Collin County Texas. In 1997 Charles left his position as a Facility Manager for a full-time career in law enforcement.

Charles entered his law enforcement career as a patrol officer, was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and briefly served as the interim Chief of Police for the city of Lavon, Texas. In 1999 Charles accepted a position as a Deputy Sheriff for the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department. While at the Sheriff’s department Charles served as Lead Officer, Field Training Officer, and Instructor. From 2000 through 2003 Charles served as President of the Ellis County Sheriff’s Officers Association where within one year of taking office as association president he was instrumental in forcing a pay referendum that gained the employees of the department a 30% pay raise.

While working for the Sheriff’s Department Charles began following his dream of owning his own business, and in August of 2002, He and his wife started Landmark Protective Services, Inc. In June of 2005, Charles left his law enforcement career and dedicated his attention to growing Landmark Protective Services to the company that it is today.

Charles is currently a member of the following trade associations, Associated Security and Investigation Services of Texas (ASSIST) American International (ASIS), Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA) and the Texas Police Chiefs Association (TCPA), IREM Ft. Worth, BOMA Dallas, and BOMA Ft. Worth. Charles currently holds the following certifications and licenses, Owner, Officer, Manager, Registration, Private Investigator Registration, Advanced Peace Officer Certification, TECLEOSE Instructor Certification, and Texas Code Enforcement Officers Certification.

Charles is a proven leader with a track record of success. He knows that the key to being successful in the security industry is to be responsive to the customers’ needs and to provide quality, service-oriented personnel to every client facility.
