ASSIST FIGHTS FOR PRIVATE SECURITY
AND PRIVATE INVESTIGATORS!
ASSIST is a legislative advocate for the private security and private investigation industries in the State of Texas. The organization works with legislators and regulators to actively study numerous bills during each legislative session. It reviews these bills in order to fight against any new legislation that hurts the legal rights of the private security industry and private investigators.
ASSIST seeks to protect the interests of private security and private investigation officers and owners. During each legislative session, we study each line of the bill, every single word and all the amendments throughout the life of that bill. Legislators have been known to sneak policy through in a seemingly innocuous bill and that could have devastating effects on the private security and private investigation industry.
The non-profit works with the Texas legislators year round especially during an election cycle. We educate and provide guidance to Texas legislators of our importance to public safety.
It works with Texas regulators, The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Private Security Advisory Committee, to ensure that the board rules reflect the legislative intent of the laws governing private security and private investigators.
ASSIST is a 501c(6) non-profit organization. Your contributions are tax deductible.
Membership
Membership in the association will be available to those who have obtained or are currently registered with the State of Texas tasked with licensing and regulating security services and private investigation. Any person requiring licensing, works within and engaged in a business which manages security services or private investigations may seek membership.
In order for membership to be effective, they must maintain compliance with the state and on all other aspects of their business including professional conduct and integrity management practices.
