Greetings, everyone, from Dan B. Flores and the Rio Grand Valley ASSIST Region
-- it's Convention time and we are ready to party!
The 2004 ASSIST Annual Convention will be taking place September 29 – October 2, 2004 at the Bahia Mar Resort on beautiful South Padre Island.
Event organizers Rio Grande Valley Chapter President Dan B. Flores, State President Dave Scepanski, and State Vice President Dave Parker have been busy for the last two years working to assure not only that you get educated during your convention attendance, but are also well entertained and nourished. Along with the informative classes and well versed instructors, they have planned a deep sea fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico, golfing at the beautiful SPI Golf Club, a shooting competition and a relaxing boat cruise to end your busy week. There will also be a sponsored dinner in Matamoros at Garcia’s, a dinner at Bahia Mar, and a dinner at Louie’s Backyard. In addition there is a sponsored luncheon that will feature our State Homeland Security Director, Mr. Jay Kimbrough. The hospitality suite will be open everyday and a sponsored reception will be thrown into the mix for your enjoyment. All of this and “book learnin” too!
We think the time and effort put into this conference will be apparent as you earn your continuing education hours and enjoy the organized events. Be sure to take (sometime) some time to enjoy the beautiful beach while you are here. Your host hotel, Bahia Mar is located on the Gulf side of the Island and offers you the perfect opportunity to view an awesome beach sunrise or sunset.
And please remember, if you run into Dave or Dan, be sure and thank them for all of their hard work and effort in preparing this conference for YOU!
